What is the Giving Challenge about?
The Giving Challenge is an exciting 24-hour giving event supporting more than 625 nonprofits serving Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties, who have shown a commitment to transparency Since 2012, donors from throughout our region have shown their love for local nonprofit organizations by providing more than $28 million in unrestricted funding to support their missions. The 2016 Giving Challenge set a new standard for generosity in our community, when more than $13.4 million was raised in just 24 hours to benefit more than 560 nonprofits listed on The Giving Partner. Stay tuned for more news about the 2018 Giving Challenge, coming up on May 1st and 2nd!

HearCare Audiology Center is partnering with HearCare Connection to bring a reduced cost/sliding scale fee hearing clinic to Sarasota, Florida. We are equipped to provide advanced audiology services for families with incomes up to 250% Federal Poverty Level. We also provide:
- Hearing Aid Donation Program collects used hearing aids for repair/credit.
- Hospice and Cancer patient hearing aid loaner program
- Annual International Hearing Clinic Mission
Services are available by appointment only.

Mary O. Thorpe completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. She then received her Masters degree in Audiology at the University of Kansas. After practicing Audiology for 25 years, Dr. Thorpe completed her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida. She is currently Board Certified in Audiology by the American Board of Audiology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology as well as the Florida Academy of Audiology.
As an audiologist in the Kansas City area, Dr. Thorpe practiced in various settings including, hospitals, health maintenance organizations, and Ear, Nose and Throat practices. Dr. Thorpe gained a wide range of experience in diagnostics, including audiologic, balance testing, and hearing aid fittings. She has experience with all age groups coming from this diverse background.
Dr. Thorpe, along with her family moved to Sarasota in 1987. She has worked in private practice in Sarasota for the past 23 years.
Dr. Thorpe has provided hearing healthcare to many patients in the Sarasota community and has acquired an excellent reputation as a caring, compassionate provider. Her commitment to providing appropriate solutions has resulted in many satisfied patients. In order to maintain her board certification and to better serve her patients, Dr. Thorpe advances her studies in hearing science by attending educational seminars yearly.
Dr. Thorpe and her husband Jim have been married for 37 years and have three beautiful grandchildren with a fourth on the way.

Director of Operations
Eileen completed her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Economics from the Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. She is currently working on her Masters in Business at Webster University here in Sarasota.
Since joining the HearCare Audiology team in June 2013, Eileen has been managing the office with the goal of providing excellent care to all of our patients.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters ages 4 and 2, running, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.

New to HearCare, Kiersten is excited to engage with all current and prospective patients and help create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and comfortable.
She enjoys spending quality time with her four children, which are all boys, ages 7 and 3, and in her spare time she enjoys refurbishing furniture and doing crafts
